Go Green, Virginia, separate from the Virginia Municipal League’s efforts, is a center for advocacy for green growth and covers pilot projects, policies and business that meets the progressive standard of better serving Virginian’s long-term interests.

The goal of Go Green, Virginia is to raise awareness for sustainable development in Virginia that teaches practices that can cut costs to businesses and residents as they progressively embrace greater green change in their living and work environments.

Attracting student input from institutions of higher education in Virginia is also another goal of this effort.   Engineering students are increasingly engaging in sustainable development studies that directly target future practices in the Commonwealth; incidentally, these students are also the future workers of this state.  Their ideas are important to the learning process of Virginia as we seek to step into growth and development that addresses financial and environmental problems from previous formats of construction and energy usage.  It is our hope to allow them a venue to propose their ideas and gain an advantage in creating their future careers in the Commonwealth.
